High drama was witnessed in Rohtak today when members of Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) protested against the ruling Congress government in the state,demanding a judicial probe into the recently held Haryana Civil Services (HCS) recruitments by the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC).
A large number of INLD members,led by its youth wing leader Dushyant Chautala,started their protest march from Medical turn and went towards Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hoodas residence.
However,apprehending a breach of law and order,the district police had already barricaded the area near the CMs residence.

The protestors entered into a mild scuffle with the police,eventually forced their way through the barricades and managed to reach Hoodas residence. For over one hour,the protesters kept on raising anti-Congress slogans and accused the state government of nepotism in government jobs. The protesters staged a dharna outside Hoodas residence and dispersed only after the deputy commissioner of Rohtak reached the spot and pacified the mob. The protesters handed over a memorandum to the DC and demanded a high-level judicial probe into the HCS selections.
Nearly two-third of the 30 HCS officers selected in October this year are related to senior officers and politicians of the state government. However,the officers and politicians have vehemently denied any favouritism and reiterated that their relatives have made it to the final selection,solely on the basis of merit. The Congress government in Haryana had crossed all limits and have been blatantly indulging in nepotism. The INLD has demanded that there should be a thorough probe into not only the recent HCS recruitmetns but all government job recruitments made during Congress tenure.
